Christian Dior opened its first ever North American storefront dedicated to fragrance and beauty this week. Next to its men’s and women’s SoHo outposts on Greene Street, the boutique offers a selection of signature scents, skincare, and make-up products, as well as a service area where guests can receive careful make-up and fragrance consultations.

The storefront gleams white and gold from within, where fragrances are displayed like gemstones. A golden tower that recalls the Emerald City stands at the center, surrounded by a suite of individual products. Just in time for Christmas, the storefront’s interior channels the same illustration found on the Dior beauty advent calendar and its gift sets, which are also available for purchase in-store. Said sets were designed by Italian artist Pietro Ruffo, who crafted the exclusive motif with the grandeur of Versailles in mind.

After the festivities, the storefront will change face to reflect the next season. For now, though, the store’s decor stems from the Dior Ball of Dreams, the fashion house’s holiday campaign that imagines an enchanted, masquerade evening in a grand hall—which appears in-store in the form of a doll-like, paper replica. In the same spirit, each product on display lends to the magic of such a night—Rouge Premier to adorn your lips, J’adore to spritz on, and something special wrapped in a bow for the host. Because to show up empty-handed wouldn’t be very Dior at all.

Dior Beauty is open at 109 Greene Street, New York, NY 10012.

Traditionally served on Shrove Tuesday, this sweet, cardamom-flavored pastry never goes out of season for photographer Jukka Ovaskainen.
