Kelly Rutherford knows a thing or two about playing royalty. Off screen, the actress carries the same cool, composed, effortlessly chic energy as the roles that cemented her in pop culture. So when PDPAOLA revealed its latest fine jewelry collection, Rutherford naturally made perfect sense as the face.
An old-world-style oil painting of Rutherford hangs at the brand’s sleek flagship in the West Village. She is wearing a tiara and styled like a modern-day monarch: It’s tongue-in-cheek, yes, but also fitting. The campaign, and the woman at its center, are grounded in the kind of regal elegance that doesn’t go out of style.

The launch marks a turning point for PDPAOLA’s fine jewelry line. While still rooted in wearability, the collection embraces a more poetic design language. Pieces crafted in 18K yellow and white gold are accented with lab-grown diamonds set in a bespoke half-bezel design that gives the illusion of floating stones. The result is fluid and just sculptural enough to catch the light.
“I got very inspired by the swan,” Paola Sasplugas, the brand’s co-founder and creative director, explains at the launch. “It has this balance of strength and delicacy, which is what I wanted to capture with the designs,” she adds. “The Disney fairytale for real women.”

The swan motif echoes throughout the campaign, from the portrait of Rutherford to the subtle undulations in gold. There is an asymmetry that feels intentional, diamonds that appear to hover just above the skin, and silhouettes that manage to feel both classic and new.
With this new chapter, PDPAOLA celebrates elegance as ease. And with Rutherford as its ambassador, the message is clear: timeless style will always find its moment.

Rutherford, for her part, was captivated by the collection’s simplicity. “I haven’t seen anything like it,” she says, pointing out a tennis bracelet with an understated twist. “It’s what makes this super special.”
