Celebrated for centuries due to its association with strength and regality, Bulgari has reinterpreted the snake as a figure of resilience with its iconic Bulgari Serpenti collection. During a time of frequently changing trends, very few items find a permanent place on the bodies of fashion enthusiasts, but this reptile motif has. Its longevity is, in part, due to the brand’s dedication to continuously transforming how the world views its most prominent emblem—this time with the help of an interactive experience.
Open through February 16, 2025 at the Zhangyuan complex in Shanghai, “Serpenti Infinito” invites visitors to take a close look at the artistry behind the many variations of the jewelry house’s signature. The rich exhibition entices viewers with three different sections that display selections from various past collections along with one-of-a-kind, previously unreleased creations—with the house’s master artisans also present for ongoing interactive workshops.
Amidst the fine jewelry, the exhibition also features 28 depictions of serpents by 19 Chinese and international artists. Turkish artist Refik Anadol’s Infinito: Ai Data Sculpture, 2025, brings the ever-changing presence of the Bulgari Serpenti to life through a three-dimensional sculpture staged in a 360-degree mirrored room, which creates a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes. Bulgari’s devotion to the snake continues beyond the curatorial space. All international Bulgari Hotels and properties will now feature a dedicated Serpenti Suite, and an animation from the exhibition is available to hotel guests around the world. Alas, the Year of the Snake proves unstoppable.
"Serpenti Infinito Exhibition" is on view until February 16, 2025 at Zhangyuan at No 288 Weihai Road, Jing'an district, Shanghai, China 200000.
