Caught in the timeless California evening light, a zebra-printed rug is in full glow—assertively modern and perennially classic, at home in the living room of the famous, Mid-century Modern Stahl House in Hollywood Hills. The alluring scene, captured by photographer William Jess Laird, is part of a campaign for a new collection of five hand-knotted rugs by Tase Gallery and Nordic Knots.

Following the opening of Nordic Knots’ first American flagship location in New York City earlier this year, the collaboration had organic beginnings. Tase Gallery founder Jessie Andrews placed a custom order from the Scandinavian textile brand to accent her design studio's recent furniture collection. She hit it off with Nordic Knots co-founders Liza and Fabian Berglund, and the rest is history—the relaxed curvatures and refined quality of the gallery’s wooden furniture merge effortlessly with the elegant luxury of the Scandinavian brand.

Two new designs are featured in the brands’ forthcoming collection: the Diamond and the Tigris. The latter merges a brindle texture with a pattern of something between a tiger and zebra—Nordic Knots’s first animal print, and comes in orange and a warm white. The geometric Diamond rug is offered in an off-white and a deep burgundy red, while a monochromatic crystal blue piece brings together an aesthetic both crisp and inviting. Stylistic elements, both enduring and modish, bring a refined versatility to the foreground of this collaboration.
Nordic Knots for Tase Gallery will launch online at NordicKnots.com on September 4, 2024.
