A new restaurant opens inside Bergdorf Goodman in collaboration with porcelain maison Ginori 1735.
The walls of Ginori 1735’s newly opened restaurant are adorned with vibrant floral motifs synonymous with its tableware. Inside Bergdorf Goodman, Café Ginori boasts a soft-pink and red wallpaper from its popular Oriente Italiano collection, gold-accented chairs with jacquard upholstery, and furniture from a recent collaboration with Luca Nichetto. Atop the tables, colorful porcelain plates sit ready to hold classic Italian dishes such as veal ragù tagliatelle and beetroot risotto. There is a distinct emphasis on mise en place throughout. Every detail of the interior echoes the Italian porcelain maison’s oeuvre, framed around the spirit of both tradition and ingenuity.
Situated on the lower level of the retailer, the embellished space offers a luxurious and design-oriented experience where diners can enjoy aperitivos while shopping the new homeware line. Ginori’s presence within a luxury department store isn’t its first sartorial crossover. In 2013, Ginori was acquired by the Kering group, which sparked a new chapter of fashion and design collaboration that continues to this day. This holistic approach reflects the overarching philosophy of the house—which was founded in the 18th century and soon became the leading producer of porcelain sculptures and homeware within Europe. With this new era of hospitality for the homeware brand, this inaugural restaurant will introduce a new dimension to fine dining and the decorations that adorn it.
Café Ginori is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the lower level of Bergdorf Goodman at 754 Fifth Avenue, New York NY 10019.
