A nostalgic blend of family traditions and whimsy inspires the work the artist makes as well as the meals she cooks.
Montréal-based artist Gab Bois transforms everyday objects into playful, inspired images. Her creations, like credit-card tube-tops and pasta hair-bows, are fresh and instantly eye-catching, a combination that has earned her a large following online. She has collaborated with Balenciaga, Nike, and Marc Jacobs, and launched a ready-to-wear collection, Canapés. Bois’ family traditions of craftsmanship often find their way into her work—and even her meals like her grandfather's cream fudge recipe, which she likens to art you can eat. “There’s a unique appeal in the way dirty snow looks, like a delectable treat waiting to be savored,” Bois tells Family Style.
